Mirage Mappa Burl Table Ø63"
Material & Surface Character
The Mirage Round Dining Table is handcrafted from highly figured Mappa Burl, selected for its dense burl clusters, swirling grain, tonal variation, and naturally irregular contours. The tabletop uses several burl sections arranged within a circular composition, allowing the expressive structure of the wood to remain visible across the entire surface.
Dark gray epoxy fills the spaces between the Mappa Burl sections, following the organic edges of the wood rather than creating a uniform geometric pattern. The resin introduces depth and contrast while preserving the visual complexity of the burl. Its darker tone frames the lighter natural wood and emphasizes the irregular transitions between individual sections.
A rounded tabletop edge completes the Ø63-inch profile and softens the perimeter. Because Mappa Burl develops unpredictably in nature, variations in grain density, burl formation, color, and epoxy distribution are integral to each table.
Structure, Form & Spatial Presence
Measuring 63 inches in diameter and 30 inches high, the Mirage Dining Table provides a generous round dining surface with balanced proportions suitable for residential dining rooms, open-plan interiors, and hospitality settings.
The circular top is supported by a dark transparent plexiglass base constructed from intersecting vertical panels. Viewed from different angles, the panels overlap visually to create changing levels of transparency and depth. This geometric base provides a strong architectural counterpoint to the irregular burl formations above while keeping the space beneath the tabletop visually open.
The centralized support also allows seating to be arranged continuously around the perimeter without conventional corner legs interrupting the layout.

Craftsmanship & Custom Options
Each Mirage Dining Table is individually handcrafted from carefully selected Mappa Burl and cast dark gray epoxy resin. The irregular wood sections are positioned to create a balanced circular composition before the resin is poured and finished flush with the surrounding surface.
The plexiglass base is precisely fabricated to support the substantial tabletop while maintaining its clean intersecting geometry. Natural differences in burl figure, wood coloration, organic contours, and resin placement ensure that every finished Mirage table has an individual appearance.
