A handmade dining table at 14 feet is a different object from one at 6. The span, the movement and the flatness all change.

A Note from the Founder
I started in the wood trade, where the widest slabs sat the longest. They were too big for anyone's plans. Not for mine. A slab that wide was never meant to be cut down. It was meant to become the table everyone gathers at.
Kitchens get remodeled. Sofas get replaced. The large dining table is the piece you buy once — where the holidays happen, the homework gets done, and the kids come back to as adults.
A large table does not fill a room. It is the room.

Choose species, base and edge. You sign off on your slab photos and your dimensions before anything is cut.

Every table is made to order, 12–20 weeks from design approval. White-glove delivery and installation to all 48 states.
What Changes Above 96 Inches
01
A 12-foot slab is rare
Wide, flat, dry slabs that long are hard to find. Many makers never get to work one. Ask how many tables over 10 feet they have built, and ask to see them.

Flat across 144 inches
A 12-foot top weighs 300–500 lbs and moves with the seasons. Flatness at that length is machine-milled and calibrated. It cannot be done by eye.

Hear the hard truth early
If your size, your slab or your base won't hold up, you hear it from us before you pay. Finding out after delivery is how big tables go wrong.

How many people does a large dining table seat?
A 96-inch table seats 8. A 120-inch table seats 10. A 144-inch (12-foot) table seats 12, and 14 at closer spacing. A 168-inch table seats 14. Allow 24 inches per person along each long side. Every Holzsch table is built to the dimensions of your room.
Are Holzsch large dining tables handmade?
Yes. Slabs are hand-selected, kiln-dried, and moisture-verified before milling. Tops are hand-joined, hand-sanded, and hand-finished, and you approve photographs of your own slab before it is cut. Flatness across 144 inches is machine-milled and calibrated — that span cannot be judged by eye. Handmade is the joinery and the finish. The flatness is the machine.
What edge profiles are available on a large dining table?
Four: straight, rounded, chamfer, and live edge. Live edge tables keep the natural edge of the slab. Tops are available in wood and epoxy resin.
How much does a custom large dining table cost?
Large dining tables start at $5,000. For 8 to 12 feet, saman runs $5,000–$10,000, white oak $7,000–$13,000, and black walnut $8,300–$16,000. Wood species, dimensions, base design, finish and overall complexity move the number.
How long does it take to build a custom large dining table?
Typical lead times are 12 to 20 weeks, depending on design complexity, material availability, and production schedule.
What materials are used in Holzsch large dining tables?
Over 50 wood species, including black walnut, white oak, red oak, cherry, ash, maple, hickory, elm, saman, parota, teak, mahogany, sapele, zebrawood and wenge, plus live edge slabs and epoxy resin.

Can I order material samples?
Yes. Wood species, leather, upholstery fabric and metal finish samples are available, combined into one kit for your project. Call and we put it together.
Does Holzsch offer a trade program for interior designers?
Yes. We work with interior designers and design studios. Trade relationships are handled individually per designer and project.
